Help Mamelodi police catch ‘robber’
Three armed men overpowered the homeowner and robbed him.
Mamelodi East police are still on the hunt for three house robbers.
According to spokesperson Captain Michael Mbewe, the complainant was only able to describe one of the men (in identikit).
The man was believed to be in his late 20s, about 1.75m tall and spoke Sepedi.
Mbewe said the man and his two accomplices allegedly broke into an extension 22 house at midnight 29 August and overpowered the 36-year-old owner.
“It is alleged the three gained access by cutting a chain at the gate,” he said.
The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash, a cellphone, groceries, home theatre system, clothes and the ownership documents of the homeowner’s car, then fled the scene.

The complainant said the three men were each armed.
Mbewe warned residents against opening doors to strangers to avoid becoming a victim.
“Anyone who spots this man must not try to catch him but rather notify the police as he may be armed and dangerous,” said Mbewe.
