UPDATE: No arrest in Sunnyside shooting case
Two men are on the run after they shot and killed a man in Sunnyside over the weekend.
The police are investigating a case of murder after a 38-year-old man was shot dead in Sunnyside on Saturday.
On Monday, police spokesperson Captain Anton Breedt said no arrest had been made as yet.
“We are yet to inform the next of kin of the deceased. Investigations are ongoing,” he said.
The man was shot while dropping off a friend near an intersection of Kotze and Greef streets at 21:00.

Breedt said the deceased and a friend were approached by two armed men.
“One man went to the passenger’s side, the other to the driver’s side and there was an altercation between the passenger and one of the suspects.
“The passenger then later heard a gunshot.”
Breedt said the passenger managed to escape and only returned after the two men had walked away.
Best Care emergency spokesperson Xander Loubser said the man succumbed to his injuries.
