Two held in Mams for unlicensed firearm
Two suspects will soon appear before a magistrate for possession of an unlicensed firearm.
Two people have been arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm, the Mamelodi East police have said.
The two were arrested in Mamelodi East extension 5 on Wednesday afternoon following a tip-off.
Police spokesperson Captain Michael Mbewe said a concerned resident had called the police about a suspicious vehicle.
“The police acted quickly and located the silver Hyundai i20,” said Mbewe. “The search of the vehicle uncovered an unlicensed firearm.
The men aged between 26 and 28 will appear in a Mamelodi court on charges of possession of unlicensed firearm.”

Mbewe thanked the community for its continued support and cooperation in the fight against crime.
