‘Would-be thief’ caught at Centurion vehicle testing centre
“He was spotted driving around the area for about three hours when he was caught breaking into a car.”
A would-be thief was caught by police at the Centurion vehicle testing centre on Thursday afternoon.
“He was spotted driving around the area for about three hours before he was arrested,” said police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller.
The man, driving a beige Mercedes Benz, was found in possession of break-in implements and property believed to have been stolen.
Miller said an investigation would determine whether the car was also stolen; and if the suspect himself could be linked to other ongoing investigations.

The 37-year-old suspect was arrested by a roving team consisting out of Lyttelton police’s support services and the Tshwane Central cluster’s police members.
Miller said the man would appear in court soon.
