No injuries in petrol station robbery explosion
The men attempted to rob a drop safe in the shop using explosives.
The police are on the trail of three would-be robbers whose explosive attempt failed to get their hands on the cash in the west instead.
According to police spokesperson Constable Sibongile Vuma, the three men tried to blow up the safe at a petrol station on Wednesday.
She said they fled when their explosives damaged the building on the corner of Quagga and Transoranje roads around 03:00 while the safe remained intact.
She said empty-handed, the men got into a Toyota Quantum and sped away.
“The explosives went off, but it never opened the safe and only damaged the petrol station.”
