UPDATE: No arrests in Silverton police station death
A man was shot outside a food outlet in Silverton but managed to drive himself to the Silverton police station where he died.
Police were on Friday still searching for the killers of a man during an attempted robbery at a fast food outlet in Silverton.
A second customer was wounded by the two culprits.
They apparently entered the outlet last Saturday with the intention to rob it when three customers walked in.
The customers were shot at and one was wounded in the upper leg.
Another customer arrived in his vehicle and the robbers opened fire on him.
Police spokesperson Captain Jan Sepato said the man managed to drive himself to the Silverton police station where he died.
He collapsed as he was telling police the story of the robbery and shooting.
“We are appealing to anyone who has any has information to report to their nearest police station,” Sepato said.
The men were driving a white Ford Ranger.
Murder and attempted murder dockets were opened and police were investigating.
