Several schools debated hot-button topics.
No punches were pulled during a school debate competition held on Saturday, 14 April in Mamelodi.
This, as learners from different schools, took part in the robust third annual Piet Hloki Debate Tournament.
Topics ranged from issues such as land expropriation without compensation, the criminalisation of racism, the effectiveness of public protests and strikes, and undocumented foreigners.
The tournament is one of several activities and projects held by local non-profit organisation, Heirs of the World.
