Manhunt for Centurion women killers
It is alleged that the two women, in their sixties, were driving along the R511 when they were attacked.
A manhunt has been launched for two men who shot dead an elderly woman on the R511 in Centurion on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said the residents called the police after they noticed a silver Toyota Condor had been parked in the driveway for too long.
“It is alleged the women, in their sixties, were driving along R511 near Hennops River around 23:00 when they were forced off the road by two suspects,” he said adding the women were then shot.
“Their handbags and other items were taken before suspects took off from the scene with an unknown vehicle.”
One of the women died while the other was recovering in hospital, he said.
He appealed to the public for any information which could assist the investigators.
“A case of murder and attempted murder was open at Erasmia police for a further police investigation,” he said.
