Three suspected hijackers nabbed in the west
They were in a possession of a vehicle that was hijacked in Soshanguve.
Three suspected hijackers were arrested on Monday afternoon in Pretoria West.
Police spokesperson Constable Sibongile Vuma said the arrests were made with the help of the Tshwane metro police officers.
“The team doing an operation approached a suspicious grey Mercedes Benz parked on corner Servaas and Rose-Etta streets,” she said.
“During the search, papers authorising the driver to cross the border were found. It was later established the vehicle had a false registration number.”
Vuma said the vehicle was matched to the one reported hijacked in Soshanguve earlier this month.
“The three occupants were arrested for possession of a suspected hijacked motor vehicle and detained at the Pretoria west station.
The three aged 27, 28 and 41 years are expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon,” she said.
