UPDATE: Killers of elderly Centurion woman still at large
The two elderly women were shot during a robbery on the R55 earlier this month.
Police are still searching for two robbers who shot dead an elderly woman in Centurion early this month.
Erasmia police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said investigations were still underway and no arrests have been made.
The elderly woman and a friend were driving along the R55 near the Hennops River when they were attacked by the robbers.
“The two women, in their sixties, were forced off the road by two suspects around 23:00,” Moloto said.
“During the robbery, both women were shot.”
Moloto said one of the women died on scene while the other one was seriously injured.
“Their handbags and other items were taken before the suspects took off from the scene in an unknown vehicle.”
He appealed to the public for any information that could assist the investigation.
