Two Pta men nabbed for possession of unlicensed firearm
The intelligence-driven operation was a success due to the involvement of the community.
Two men were arrested for the illegal possession of a firearm in the Pretoria CBD on Wednesday night.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Tsietsi Lamola said the intelligence-driven operation was a success because the community got involved.
“It is alleged that the police acted on information supplied and managed to arrest two men wandering the street of Pretoria carrying a firearm which is not licensed. The serial number of the firearm in question is rubbed off,” he said.
Lamola said the duo appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court.
“The firearm was taken for further investigations. As the police, we appreciate the effort by the members of the community …giving us information that helps in the fight against crime.”
