NEWSFLASH: Pedestrian killed in west hit-and-run

"It saddens me that pedestrians and other road users are unsafe on our roads," - councillor.

A pedestrian was killed in an apparent hit-and-run accident on E’skia Mphahlele Drive, west of the city on Saturday evening.
Details surrounding the incident were not immediately available from paramedics, but Best Care emergency service’s spokesperson Xander Loubser, confirmed the accident.
Ward councillor Elma Nel said she was saddened by the death.
“It saddens me that pedestrians and other road users are unsafe on our roads.”
Nel urged pedestrians to exercise caution when crossing roads.
Traffic was backed up from Van der Hoff Road to E’skia Mphahlele Drive and motorists were advised to use alternative roads.
