Some parts of Pretoria have again been hit by power failures due to the ongoing cable theft incidents.
Various areas in Soshanguve, Louwlardia and Olievenhoutbosch were without power on Tuesday, the metro confirmed.
“Technicians are on-site busy with repairs and it is estimated that electricity supply will be restored by 22:00 tonight,” said Metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo, referring to the situation in Soshanguve where the following areas were affected:
- Block CC
- Block AA
- Block G
- Block F
In Centurion, parts of Louwlardia and Olievenhoutsbosch were also without power due to cable theft.

Mashigo said technicians were carrying out repairs and it was anticipated that the power supply would be restored on Wednesday, 13 June at around midday.
“The city apologises for the inconvenience caused to the affected residents.”
Affected customers were urged to SMS the word “POWER” followed by the account number to 082 612 0333 or 44676.
Alternatively, call 080 1111 556 or 012 358 9999 then choose the electricity option.
