SCHOOL: Curro Thatchfield helps fight the cold on Barefoot Day

The learners each brought a pair of shoes which Curro donated to the Potato Foundation for distribution to worthy causes.

On 1 June 2018, Curro Thatchfield Primary School challenged its learners to come to school without their shoes.

This was in honour of National Barefoot Day where the learners would experience what it is like to be a young underprivileged child with no shoes, in the middle of freezing winter.

The learners each brought a pair of shoes which Curro donated to the Potato Foundation for distribution to worthy causes.

Executive Head Marlene Gerber said: ‘Our parents’ support was fantastic and we collected over 1 600 pairs of shoes!’
