Two rival taxi operators in Mamelodi have reached agreement over routes after a meeting at Moretele park.
The meeting was attended by the Mamelodi taxi association (MATA) and 4 Plus 1 taxi association on Wednesday.
SAPS, metro police, department of community safety and local CPF also took part in the talks.
Mamelodi police spokesperson Captain Johannes Maheso said an agreement was reached to “share” some parts of Tsamaya Road among the taxi associations.
Both parties said they would release statements later on the agreement reached.
A fight between the rival taxi operators reportedly broke out on Tuesday when a blue VW Golf belonging to 4 Plus 1 was overturned next to Eerste Fabrieke railway station in Tsamaya Road.

Fighting continued on Wednesday when a taxi was burnt next to Tsako Thabo Secondary School in Mamelodi East.
No passengers were harmed in the incidents.
Some 4 Plus 1 taxi drivers, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Rekord the war broke out after local Mata members stoned and burnt some of their taxis.
4 Plus 1 members retaliated by barricading Tsamaya Road and in turn stoning taxis belonging to Mata.
Passengers told Rekord the clashes were putting the lives of commuters in danger.
“Also we are left stranded every time they fight,” said passenger Sophy Mahlangu.
Mahlangu said she wished Mata members would give 4 Plus 1 taxi association a chance to operate around Mamelodi.
Mamelodi East police spokesperson Captain Michael Mbewe said police were monitoring the situation but no arrests were made.

The taxi associations were not available for comment.
