Police clean-up nets 300 in the west
Among them was a 28-year-old man who was arrested for statutory rape of a 13-year-old girl.
More than 300 people were arrested over the past seven days during Tshwane West cluster police operations.
The operations were conducted through raiding liquor outlets, execution of warrants of arrest, roadblocks, stop and searches, foot patrols, tracing of wanted suspects and other methods.
Police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said one of the major arrests happened in the CBD.
“Two suspects were arrested for attempted murder and hijacking in Pretoria Central. Later, two more were arrested in Marabastad for armed robbery.
“An unlicensed firearm and ammunition were confiscated.”
