Two house robbers caught in Atteridgeville
The victim called for help and his neighbours responded.
Two house robbers were chased and caught by the Atteridgeville community on Tuesday night.
Hercules police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said the victim was watching television in his bedroom when he heard a strange sound in the house. He switched off the TV to investigate but was immediately attacked by three men armed with a firearm,” he said.
“The suspects demanded cash but luckily he managed to escape.”
Msimango said the victim later saw the robbers come out of the house with his laptop and screamed for help.
“Neighbours managed to chase and apprehend two of them while the other one managed to escape. The laptop was recovered.”
The duo, both aged 20, are expected to appear in the Atteridgeville magistrate’s court soon.
