Acid attack woman arrested in Atteridgeville

She threw acid in another woman’s face accusing her of witchcraft.

A 33-year-old woman has been arrested for an acid attack on another in Atteridgeville on Wednesday.

Police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said the woman accused her victim of witchcraft then stabbed her with a knife at Saulsville Hostel.

Msimango said the victim sustained minor injuries to the elbow.

“The victim later took her brother to the suspect’s house in order to resolve the matter but was poured with acid in the face while her brother was threatened with a knife,” he said.

Msiamngo said the suspect was arrested for attempted murder and was expected in the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court soon.

The victim was taken to the Kalafong Hospital for treatment.
