Missing Brooklyn woman: east man to apply for bail

Prem Basdeo (58) is accused of murdering his wife whose body is still missing.

The Brooklyn man who is accused of killing his wife is expected to appear in the Pretoria magistrate’s court on Tuesday morning for a formal bail application.

Prem Emmanuel Basdeo (58), a former policeman, faces charges of murder, defeating the ends of justice and perjury after he allegedly reported his wife, Dawn, missing more than two weeks ago.

Basdeo was previously acquitted of murder for the death of his first wife, Neetha, in Durban 14 years ago.

Neetha was found with a gunshot wound to the head in a shipping container the family stayed in.

Basdeo and his son Jordan, who was his co-accused, were found not guilty.

Police allege that Dawn was murdered and that her husband was involved.

Her body is still missing.
