A Pretoria man shot and injured his wife before turning the gun on himself on Wednesday morning.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Tebogo Magoro said this happened around 01:10 in the east of Pretoria.
“On arrival, paramedics attended to a female patient with a gunshot wound to the chest as well as a man with a gunshot wound to the head, both aged between 35 and 45,” Magoro said.
“It is alleged that the husband shot his wife before turning the gun on himself.”
Magoro said the wife sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital for further medical care.
“Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had already succumbed to the fatal gunshot and unfortunately nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead on the scene by Netcare 911,” he said.
