Doringkloof colour run or walk

This was in celebration of the school’s 40th birthday.

Laerskool Doringkloof Primary in Centurion celebrated its 40th birthday during its annual “colour run” and carnival on Saturday morning.

Both parents and learners took part in the fun at the school premises, which kicked off at 09:00 and lasted until about 12:00.

The school was officially opened on 3 August 1978 with 530 learners as an Afrikaans-only school.

In 1998, a new era and century approached and the school, moving with the times, changed into a parallel medium school.

The school currently has more than 1 300 learners.

A total of 568 participants singed up for 4 km colour run.

The event was coordinated by the school governing body and teachers.

Organisers described it as a fun day for families.
