A father and son appeared in court on Thursday for allegedly assaulting a security guard at the Wonderboom National Airport.
Hans and Hans Junior Potgieter stood together in the dock in the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court.
Last month, a video went viral showing security guard Morris Segapu being attacked by two men.

Segapu earlier told Rekord how he explained to the men that the boom gate the men in their vehicle were trying to exit from was not working.
He said the men swore at him, calling him the k-word before they attacked him.

A day after the video’s release, Hans was arrested.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan van Dyk said it appeared Junior went into hiding after his father’s arrest.
“Earlier this month, however, he handed himself over at the police station accompanied by his lawyer,” Van Dyk said.
Father and son were both granted bail.
The two were charged with assault and crimen injuria.

Outside court on Thursday, Segapu said he was still recovering from his injuries.
“I must have dislocated my shoulder when I fell backwards (during the attack),” Segapu said rubbing his shoulder.
Segapu and the two accused were expected to be back at court beginning of next month.
