A suspected house burglar was arrested in Elardus Park, east of Pretoria in the early hours of Thursday.
Lyttelton police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller said the man was caught with housebreaking equipment.
“The suspect faces charges related to house breaking. Investigations are ongoing and we can’t rule out the fact that the suspect might be linked to related crimes in the area,” he said.

Miller urged residents to keep their windows and doors closed all the time.
“We understand that it’s hot at night but leaving your windows open at night gives criminals the opportunity to break in.”
