It provides large, accessible and visible outlets with an average of 3 000m2 in retail surface.

Decathlon SA recently opened its first standard store in Alberton.

“We want each Decathlon site to be more than a store,” said South Africa company CEO Eric Mazillier.

“We want the store to be a place where real sports lovers will meet and become part of our community.”

With a minimum two-year warranty on all their high-quality products as well as a lifetime warranty on all bicycle frames, the store prides itself on the services it offers.

Some amazing products include waterproof bags and a soccer ball designed to withstand punctures.

The Centurion branch offers 2 500m2 of sporting goods including a 600m2 playground, test zones and a workshop.

Staff members are there to not only advise customers, but also to allow them to test the products before buying.

“Our staff members are not only there to ensure customers are helped but also to provide them with the best advice possible,” said Mazillier.

He added the playground which included a cricket net, climbing wall and netted soccer field was also aimed at getting children and adults alike involved with sports.

“We are very excited to continue to develop Decathlon SA with the opening of the new store in Centurion to introduce sports lovers of Pretoria to our unique model,” said Mazillier.

Centurion store leader Matthias Valkeniers said Decathlon had managed to bring in even more local sports including cricket, hockey and netball.

Other sports catered for include horse riding, swimming, running, camping and fishing.

“Our prices are still unbelievable low and all items are under our amazing guarantees,” he said.
