The Gauteng police have been saddened by the deaths of two officers in road accidents, including a constable from Atteridgeville.
The first incident happened on Saturday evening when an Atteridgeville constable was knocked over by a motorist alleged to be drunk.
According to a reliable source, the officer was a Constable Padziri.

The female constable was part of a roadblock on the R511 and R512 roads when a speeding vehicle allegedly failed to stop and knocked her down, said provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters.
“The officer succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead on the scene.
“A male suspect who was allegedly intoxicated at the time was arrested for culpable homicide and for driving under the influence of alcohol,” she said.
In the second incident, it was alleged that a vehicle with two occupants crashed into a truck on the R21 near Olifantsfontein on Sunday, Peters said.
“Both the driver and the passenger, one of whom has since been confirmed as a 38-year-old warrant officer stationed at national head office, were declared dead on the scene,” she said.
