
Police have arrested a suspected drug dealer in Atteridgeville.
The man, believed to be in his forties, is accused of selling drugs from his home in Mkhondo Street.
The arrest took place on Wednesday morning.
A drug and crime intelligence unit received a tip-off about the man reportedly selling drugs, said police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto.
“The team followed up on this information and found the man at his house at around 11:00 on Wednesday,” said Moloto.
During the arrest, police recovered 200 packets of nyaope and dagga as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.
Moloto put the value of the drugs recovered at about R6 000.
The man is expected to appear in the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court on charges of dealing drugs soon.
