Police have launched a manhunt after a taxi owner was shot and killed at the Atteridgeville taxi rank on Wednesday morning.
The 57-year-old was shot and killed by at least two unknown gunmen, according to police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto.
“The two men fled the scene in a white Jeep with an unknown registration number,” said Moloto.
The shooting occurred around 09:00 on Wednesday morning.
Moloto said the motive at this stage was unclear.
“Police are appealing to members of the community to assist with information that could lead to an arrest,” he said.
Community members were urged not to approach the men if they were spotted.
“These men have been declared armed and dangerous,” said Moloto.
“Instead, you can contact 08600-10111 or the Atteridgeville police station on 012-373-2400.”
