Video footage on social media shows three robbers stuffing Diesel watches into their pants during a robbery at a Pretoria Central store.
The robbery occurred at around 13:15 on Wednesday afternoon.
The store, Queen’s Lifestyle, is located on the corner of Thabo Sehume and Helen Joseph streets.
“In our ground section, where the theft happened, we sell clothing and accessories including the Diesel watches,” said chief operations officer, Shaakira Yousuf.
Yousuf had posted the video on social media shortly after the robbery, appealing to anyone with more information to come forward.
The video shows the three robbers standing at the watch cabinet which, according to Yousuf, is always locked.
“They must have tampered with the lock because it wouldn’t lock again after the theft,” she said.
“Unfortunately the theft happened around lunchtime and because it is a big business, we can’t keep an eye on the CCTV feed all day.”

In the video, the three robbers glance around before two of them proceed to take the four watches out of the cabinet.
They then proceed to shove the watches, worth about R4 000 each, into the front of their pants before leaving the scene.
“We reported the case to the police, who came to take fingerprints off the glass cabinet,” said Yousuf.
“This is not the first time our store has been targeted by crime. There was another incident just before Christmas.”
She said business owners in the area were concerned about a recent spate of robberies.
