A 33-year-old man was arrested for possession of a hijacked truck and stolen property in Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria, by the Tshwane flying squad on Wednesday.
The man faces an additional charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
“The members followed up on information about a truck which was reportedly hijacked at N14 direction Pretoria,” spokesperson Constable Buhle Rahatji said.

The hijacked trucked was later spotted in Atteridgeville.
“It was stopped and one suspect was arrested with an unlicensed firearm and five ammunition (rounds),” she said.
A total of 100 63-inch TV sets were recovered as well as a gas stove and washing machines.
“The value of the recovered property is R549 000,” Rahatji added.
The man is due to appear in the Pretoria Central Magistrate’s Court soon.
