Water supply interruption in parts of Centurion due to maintenance work

"The city of Tshwane apologises for any inconvenience that might arise as a result of this upkeep."

Some areas in Centurion were without water on Friday following a planned maintenance of the supply network.

Tshwane metro’s spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said the water supply interruption was scheduled between 08:00 to 17h00 in the following areas:

  • Lyttelton
  • Clubview extensions 12, 40, 56 and 99
  • Cardinal

The following businesses, schools and hospitals were also affected:

  • Paintball Village
  • Golden Pipit Country conference centre
  • Leriba hotel
  • La Dume guesthouse
  • Veritas Akademie
  • Cruise Alternatives

Mashigo said the maintenance and upgrading work in Clubview extension 119 was at the intersection of End Avenue and Jim van der Merwe Street. Upon completion, the re-routing was expected to:

  • Lessen unplanned maintenance.
  • Limit possible pipe bursts.
  • Improve water supply in the area.
  • Reduce constant major repairs that result in water interruption.
  • Reduce areas that will be affected with no water when there was major pipe burst.

“The city of Tshwane apologises for any inconvenience that might arise as a result of this upkeep,” he said.
