Official opening for north primary school next week
"We have borehole that is currently supplying water to the school until a permanent solution is found."
A new Hammanskraal school would be officially opened by education minister Panyaza Lesufi next week.
The official launch and opening of Marotola Primary School in Stinkwater, Hammanskraal, was initially delayed due to water problems in the area.
Lesufi confirmed through his official Twitter handle on Tuesday that the school will, however, be officially handed over next week.

“Hammanskraal it’s your turn to receive a brand new school,” said Lesufi, using the #NewSchoolEveryWeek hashtag.
After years of struggling to get a new school, primary school children from Stinkwater would now only have to walk a short distance to school.
“We can’t delay the future of our children because the municipality is not ready with water,” said Lesufi.
“Budgeting in government is a complicated process. You don’t use it, you lose it. The school is up, water will follow. If we waited for water today, we will not have a school.”
Construction of the school began in 2014.

“We have a borehole that is currently supplying water to the school until a permanent solution is found,” said local ward councillor Aaron Maluleka.
The school will have 30 classrooms, five ablution blocks, an administration block and two grade R classrooms
It will accommodate about 600 pupils in total.
The department said it decided to build a school in the area because of high demand.
“There is a great number of learners in the area,” it said.
“Hammanskraal is a developing area and we need to meet demand.”
Marotola Primary is one of 16 new schools the department is opening this year. These include Iketleng Primary School in Hammanskraal and Nellmapius Primary School.
