UPDATE: Matwetwe lead actor ‘killers’ identified
The police are apparently "on the heels" of the suspects.
The Gauteng government has revealed the police have identified suspects in the Sibusiso Khiwana murder case.
Gauteng premier David Makhura disclosed the information during his and community safety MEC Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane’s condolence visit with the Khiwana family on Thursday morning.
The Matwetwe film lead actor was stabbed to death in a fight to reclaim his phone that had been taken from him by robbers on Friday evening.

Khiwana and his friend were approached by a trio of men shortly after they exited the Sterland mall where the movie was being screened.
Makhura also said it was unfortunate the 25-year-old’s life was cut short as the movie continued to gain traction following its release last month.
Newly appointed provincial commissioner Elias Mawela said he hoped the perpetrators were arrested by the time Khwinana is laid to rest on Saturday.
But said he did not wish the police rush the investigation but rather they build a solid case.
Family spokesperson Khalo Khwinana said the progress the police had made into the murder of her cousin was comforting.

Khwinana’s memorial service is set for Thursday at the AFM Hilltop Restoration Centre in Block K, Soshanguve.
His funeral service will be held at the same place.
A murder and robbery investigation is underway.
