Three people were arrested by the Tshwane metro police at the weekend after they were found allegedly tampering with electric cables in the north.
The trio was found along Sefako Makgatho Drive, said metro police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba.
“They were caught working on electricity poles without any authorisation or identification. The three were soon arrested and taken to the nearest police station, ” he said.

Mahamba said four others were arrested for drunk driving in Wonderboom, Pretoria Central and Silverton during TMPD operations.
“Altogether eight vehicles were impounded for parking offences in the CBD, and 581 traffic fines were issued,” he said.
Mahamba also applauded the TMPD crowd control unit for handling the Pretoria West unrest outbreak last Friday.
“The unit has been doing a great job so far in attending to all the riots in Pretoria West and will continue doing so until the situation becomes calm.”
We commend all officers who are dedicated to their job and do it with integrity. The TMPD will continue to work very hard to maintain safety and order in Tshwane,” he said.
