The Tshwane Central policing cluster boasted two successful convictions in the past month.
Police spokesperson Captain Anton Breedt said the first conviction was made on 28 February at the Pretoria High Court when two men were jailed 123 years each.
The men, aged 40 and 37, were convicted for a house robbery in March 2017, where two people died.
He said four people were involved in the robbery but only two were arrested.
“Five people were stabbed in the main bedroom during the robbery and were all stabbed on the same place, which was below the armpit and on the back,” he said.
“They fled the scene with plasma televisions, cell phones and a vehicle.”
The vehicle was later found in Johannesburg, he said.

Breedt said thanks to the swift response of the police’s trio task team, two of the four men were arrested that same month.
“One of the men was traced all the way to Cape Town,” he said.
He said the two men were convicted of house robbery, murder, attempted murder and 22 counts of theft committed throughout South Africa.
Breedt said that they wished to withhold the two convicted men’s identity for fear that the other two suspects, who were also involved in the robbery, could flee.
Investigating officer Constable Godfrey Sebaka said he “felt great” about the successful convictions.
“Justice has been served and we will always try our best to keep the criminals from the street,” he said.
He thanked everyone involved and putting in an extra effort to bring the criminals to book.
“It is not just me who can celebrate this success – many officers worked day in and out to make sure that we track down the criminals,” he said.
Breedt urged anyone with more information in connection with the other two suspects still at large, to contact the police.

Another conviction celebrated this month by the central cluster was one made by Constable Given Holena, also of the trio task team.
Breedt said Johannes Mokoena was convicted of housebreaking earlier this year, and sentenced in February to 20 years in prison.
“The owner of the house was still at home when an unknown number of suspects entered the house,” he said.
“They tied him up but he managed to get loose and shot one of the suspects before they fled the scene.”
One of the men was arrested after Holena followed a trail of blood where he found the man unconscious.
“After he was released from the hospital, he was immediately arrested,” Breedt said.
Holena said he was pleased with the conviction.
