Two men were arrested near the Centurion licensing and testing centre after police chased down two suspected thieves on Thursday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller said the police were conducting an operation at the centre when they noticed two men in a white Mercedes Benz.
“The two fled and a chase ensued along Nellmapius Drive,” said Miller.
“They were finally cornered and arrested. They were found to be in possession of goods our members believe were stolen from motor vehicles at the centre.
“We were able to recover all the items that were stolen from the centre.”

Miller said the police were also investigating the possibility that the Mercedes Benz had been stolen.
He said the two would appear in the Pretoria magistrate’s court on charges of possession of suspected stolen property and motor vehicle.

He thanked the members for going the extra mile to secure the arrest.
Last week two people were arrested in Lyttelton Manor for possession of “high-tech” jamming equipment believed to be used in motor vehicle theft.
Miller urged motorists to be vigilant.
“Please ensure that you check your doors manually to see if they are locked. Also park in well-lit areas to lessen the chances of falling victim to crime.”
