The case of a man who was apprehended by two residents from the north of Pretoria for allegedly stealing, has been postponed to next month.
After the residents turned the suspect over to police, they were surprised to find out he was also wanted on murder charges.
Thabang Molebatsi will make his next appearance in the Pretoria magistrate’s court on 16 May.

During proceedings, the prosecution said the suspect was no longer living at his mother’s Hammanskraal home.
“When the address was visited the mother told the investigating officer he left home eight years ago.”
It was understood Molebatsi was now living on the streets.
The legal-aid attorney who represented Molebatsi said he was using a “substance”, which could be easily obtained behind bars.
He was arrested after being chased by Tshepo Seleka and Sylvester Sindani who noticed suspicious activity at what appeared to be an abandoned building.

Upon searching a bin Molebatsi and two other men were pushing, it was allegedly found they were in possession of stolen metro electricity meter boxes.
A few days after his arrest Seleka was contacted by a police officer who informed him Molebatsi was wanted in connection with a murder that happened in 2011.
“We’re currently only commenting on the stolen property charge,” police spokesperson Captain Daniel Mavimbela said.
He said this was because the crime he committed in Sunnyside was only the possession of suspected stolen property.
A source told Rekord, Molebatsi was wanted in connection with a murder that happened during an initiation ceremony.
