SPORT: Former Banyana players ready to develop Atteridgeville community
This was no ordinary trip to the stadium for the former footballers, who were required to take notes on various project management aspects that come into play ahead of a professional football match.
Following an insightful two days of skills training in Atteridgeville, Banyana Banyana legends Fikile Sithole and Sibongile Khumalo are confident that their newly acquired skills will benefit local clubs.
Sithole and Khumalo were part of the 10 selected legends who took part in the inaugural Betway 12th Man programme rolled out by the sport betting company in partnership with Lucas Radebe.
The third workshop of the six-month programme concluded at the Lucas Moripe stadium on Saturday during the match between SuperSport United and Polokwane City.

This was no ordinary trip to the stadium for the former footballers, who were required to take notes on various project management aspects that come into play ahead of a professional football match.
Important elements such as safety and security, ticketing, marketing and broadcasting were some of the touch-points that the legends were exposed to as part of their project management module.
Speaking after the highly informative learning experience, Sithole who coaches a Sowetan club said that the experience would certainly help them in their future endeavours.
“The past three months have been quite informative for us and the learning experience continues to be useful,” said Sithole.
“Even though we have different activities that we conduct as legends, there are traits of project management in each of those activities and it was great to be part of this,” she said.
