North baby home continues taking babies in
“If it wasn’t for the support of the public, community, companies and churches, there was no way we could do it.”

The Rock of Hope place of safety for babies and children in the north of Pretoria continues to welcome babies despite being faced with challenges.
“The biggest challenges include funding,” co-founder Mientjie Prozesky told Rekord.
She said although they received some funding from government, it was not enough.
“We only get R16 per day per child from the government and we only get it when they leave.
“If it wasn’t for the support of the public, community, companies and churches, there was no way we could do it,” Prozesky said.
Another challenge she and her co-founder and husband, Wouter Prozesky, faced was letting go of the children when they were adopted.
The place of safety, currently taking care of 13 children, recently celebrated its eighth anniversary.
“We’ve been running Rock of Hope since 23 April 2011.
“It all started with a prophecy in church,” Prozesky explained.
