Man hurt as car crashes into lamp post in west

His vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a lamp post in Moot Street.

A man was seriously injured after his vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a lamp post in the west of Pretoria on Monday.

The crash happened in Moot Street, Daspoort around 03:00.

”Upon arrival, paramedics found that a vehicle had crashed into a lamp post. The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to 1 Military hospital by a private ambulance,” said Best Care emergency service spokesperson Xander Loubser.

He said that the driver was alone in the car.

Following the crash, Hercules CPF member Ricky Louw demanded that more speed humps be erected to slow down cars in Moot Street.

“People travelling on that road have no care for stop signs and we want the municipality to intervene and add more speed humps.”
