UPDATE: Pretoria art museum closed for inauguration
“Several streets around and leading to the host venue will be closed as from Friday at 15:00 until Saturday evening at 22:00.”
The Pretoria Art Museum in Arcadia will be temporarily closed because of the presidential inauguration taking place at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.
“Due to the close proximity of the museum to Loftus, its operations will be affected,” said Tshwane metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo.
He said the museum’s parking area and a Speakers Corner event at the Arcadia Park were reserved for inauguration guests to park at and walk to the stadium.
“Several streets around and leading to the host venue will be closed as from Friday at 15:00 until Saturday evening at 22:00,” Mashigo said.
The museum closure, however, will be made up to patrons when the metro offers free entry into the museum until Sunday.
“The free entrance offer started on 16 May 2019 and is scheduled to end on Saturday,” he said.
