A woman was raped during a house robbery in Ondersterpoort on Saturday morning.
Police spokesperson Captain Lungelo Dlamini said the attack took place around 02:30 on a plot in Soutpan Road.
Dlamini said a couple was asleep when two unknown armed men entered the house after cutting off the fence to enter the premises.
“They pointed them with firearms demanding money,” he said.

“The man had a shot gun with which he tried to shoot them but they overpowered him.”
He said the alleged robbers grabbed the man’s firearm and took him and his wife to the bathroom where they tied them with shoe laces.
The pair was then assaulted and suffered head injuries.
“The man suffered injuries to his head and hip. He can’t walk properly.”

Dlamini said the woman was then forced to the bedroom where she was raped “without protection”.
The robbers got away with a TV, shotgun, two cellphones and clothes worth R12 000.00.
“No one has been arrested yet.”
