The bail application of the man believed to be behind “a reign of terror” in the north of Pretoria has been postponed to Thursday.
Lucas Diale appeared in the Pretoria North magistrate’s court on Tuesday, but his docket was not available in court.
Among others, he is facing charges of hijacking, theft and malicious damage to property.
“He is also facing two charges of residential burglary, one each for attempted theft of a motor vehicle, malicious damage to property and business robbery,” police spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo said.
Diale first appeared in the Pretoria North court last week, when the case was initially postponed.
He was arrested during the police operations at the beginning of June.
“The suspect was on the run after committing a series of criminal offences and terrorising the community of Sinoville,” Masondo said.
Masondo said the police believed they were making progress in locating and arresting repeat offenders and suspects responsible for serious and violent crimes in the province.
