North driver kills two pedestrians

He was allegedly under the influence of alcohol during the incident.

A man is due in court this week after he allegedly ran over four pedestrians, killing two, in the north of Pretoria recently.

Police spokesperson Constable Herman Moremi said the accident happened on Thursday night in Temba.

“The driver knocked over four people by the side of the road, of whom two died. The other two suffered serious injuries and are recovering in hospital,” he said.

Moremi said the driver was charged with culpable homicide.

“He was allegedly under the influence of alcohol during the incident.”
