Moot woman loses battle against cancer

Du Toit died on Saturday night after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011.

A service to celebrate the life of a Moot resident, who recently died after fighting cancer for eight years, will be held later this week.

The memorial service for Leanie du Toit will take place at the Pinedew guest house in Kameeldrif East on Friday at 11:00, her mother Tina said.

She asked that attendees only wear bright colours and not any black.

Du Toit died on Saturday night at 20:00.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011.

After her diagnosis, she went into remission in 2012 but the cancer returned and she had to undergo multiple surgeries in 2013 and 2014.

When news of Du Toit’s death spread, many messages of condolences were shared on social media.
