NEWSFLASH: Grandmother in collision with ambulance in east

The woman was on her way to collect her grandchild from school.

A woman was injured after her car collided with an ambulance on Monday afternoon.

The accident happened just before 12:00 on the corner of Lynnwood and Glenwood roads, according to The Punisher Protection Services medical response.

In a statement, the emergency services said the woman was on her way to collect her grandchild from school when the accident happened.

“She was stabilised on scene and given medication to manage her pain by Emer-G-Med advanced life support paramedics before being transported to a hospital in Pretoria.”

The medics from the ambulance involved are said to have sustained minor injuries.

Details surrounding the cause of the accident are subject to police investigation.
