Local jazz queen to be buried this weekend

Patricia “Petty” Ntlapo will be buried at Heatherly Cemetery on Saturday

Legendary jazz queen Patricia “Petty” Ntlapo of Nellmapius Extension 4 passed away at the age of 55 on Sunday after a short illness.

Friend and jazz colleague Esther Kekana described the Petty as a loving person who was always ready with advice.

“She will be missed by family, friends and jazz colleagues alike,” said Kekana.

“She was also a treasure at the Jazz Class.”

She said “Petty” was famous among jazz lovers for the beautiful attire she wore to jazz sessions and for her jazz moves.

She was a member of the Jazz Messengers and Tshwane Jazz clubs.

Petty will be buried at Heatherly Cemetery on Saturday after a procession from her home on 3866 Malebo Street Extension 4 at 06:30 and service at the Baptist Church in Mamelodi at 08:00.
