UPDATE: Attempted accused cop’s case postponed, again
The police officer allegedly shot a 17-year-old as he attempted to walk away.
The ongoing case against a police officer accused of the attempted murder of a teenager was again postponed on Friday.
The case against Peter Makota is to be postponed to August pending further investigation and for blood and ballistic samples to be returned.

Makota allegedly shot and wounded a 17-year-old during an argument over why he and his friends were seated across the road from Makota’s home.
“The argument was over why they were sitting there,” independent police investigative directorate (IPID) spokesperson Moses Dlamini said.

After an apparent shouting match, Makota allegedly shot the boy in the shoulder as he walked away.
Dlamini said the police watchdog was investigating the case.
Makota’s next appearance has been set for 21 August 2019 in the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court.
