UPDATE: North attempted murder accused cop in court

The police officer allegedly shot a 17-year-old as he walked away.

The police officer charged with the attempted murder of a teenager will return to the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court on Friday.

Constable Peter Makota allegedly shot and wounded a 17-year-old during an argument over why he and his friends sat across the road from his home.

“The argument was over why they were sitting there,” independent police investigative directorate (IPID) spokesperson Moses Dlamini said.
