Netball league keeps girls busy
Euphoria wins with 44 goals against Sosh Movers in under 19 games during Pink Love Netball League.
Euphoria won its fifth match with 44-10 against Sosh Movers in the under-19 games during Pink Love Netball league in Soshanguve Block G at Hilltop netball courts.
Netball teams from townships all over Pretoria are competing for the number one position in the league, which has been running from 3 April 2019. The league will end on 23 November 2019.
The league is compromised by the under-19, under-15 and seniors from Pretoria North, Ga-Rankuwa, Mabopane, Soshanguve, and Winterveldt.
League chairperson Jabu Mahlangu said they organised the league for Pretoria North netball teams to compete and to help develop the teams.

“With this league, we want to keep the youth away from criminal activities; it is also a way of promoting township netball and the development of players,” said Mahlangu.
Euphoria is one of the teams competing in the league and has won four games and lost only one since the start of the competition.
Assistant coach Dikeledi Mlanje said the game they currently played was fair, even though she was expecting more than the 44 goals that had been scored.
“The girls are relaxed, but they played very well. No injuries were reported. I believe that they can do more. More practice will lead to more goals,” said Mlanje.
Mlanje said the game was an important one as Euphoria moved from position four to two.
“We communicate with players, they listen during practice and those who come to practice can apply what they have been taught during practice,” said Mlanje.
Best player of the game, Siyabulela Mushaike (18) said her team did not play the game as they planned.

“We did not play to the best of our ability,” said Mushaike.
“We were playing at their speed, but a win is a win. I hope the next game we are going to do our best and as a defender, I made sure they do not score many goals against us.”
Euphoria captain Mandisa Lebese (16) said: “Even though we won the game, I am not happy with the score because most of the times when we win, we score more what we scored today. I was expecting about 60 goals from us.”
