The Holy Cross Home is owned and managed by the Holy Cross Sisters.

“Due to our nature as an NPO, we rely on well-wishers and donors so that we will be able to provide the services we offer as best as possible,” she said.

“Every year, winter time is a challenging moment for us since we need a lot of heating to keep our old people warm and comfortable.

“In circumstances like these, the financial resources of the home are not able to meet all these needs.”

Therefore, the care centre will be hosting a fundraising event on 28 September at 09:00.

“The success of this event depends on the support of the community,” she said.

“We are asking for help so that this event will be a success.”

She said the home’s intention was to secure funds for the upkeep of the care centre, especially maintenance, repairs and changes to some building structures.
